The Story of How Hot Dogs Gained Life

As with any advancements in history, they are sparked by the desire of humans to acheive a specific goal. In the 18th century, Germans as well other Europeans desired badger pelts; however, they were not an easy task to obtain. They lived in cramped, underground tunnels which were difficult to access for larger breeds of dogs, and rather hostile when exposed from their enclosure. In order to effectively hunt badgers, Germans began to breed different types of dogs to develop one that could infiltrate the badger's safe haven and either slay it underground or force it to return to the surface where it could be intercepted by stronger forces.

In today's world, dachshunds have taken on the role of family pet and friend rather than a ferocious predator hunting small, underground prey. Although they have transitioned from such a role, many of their past characteristics are still present today. Dachshunds still possess the same independant mindset that enables them to outsmart their prey, or in modern cases, effectively cause trouble with a foolproof plan to avoid any responsibility.
