Madden 25 Review
Madden 24 was said to be a "make or break year" for the game according to video game insiders last year and, after a rocky start and some of the worst gameplay in the history of the franchise, EA was renewed for another year. Madden 25, not to be confused with Madden 25 from 2015 celebrating the 25th anniversy of the franchise, has not been what many fans were hoping for. EA has shown that they care more about paywalls and money making tactics than gameplay and development of their longest lasting franchise that has not been great for awhile. Madden, like most AAA titles now, have been upped in price since the new generation of consoles released. Usually what would be a $60 game with the option to pre-order has now been increased to $70 for just the base version with no upgrades to the consumer. In my opinon, Madden 25 is not worth the $70 price tag, nor is it worth the %50 off it currently is in the Microsoft store. With micro-transtions that are the only way to have a good team in the games most popular mode "Ultaimate Team", and the mediocre gameplay that is not realistic to real life football, you get a game that feels like it was just thrown together for a quick cash grab. Even though I am being harsh on the game, I will say there are some good qualities. The franchise mode where you get to control any team and be an owner or coach is actually way more advanced and in-depth than in past titles where the mode was neglected, but, with how bad the gameplay is, its hard to justify the price. I give Madden 25 a 3/10 stars. It is easily one of the worst games in the franchise, and I sincerly hope it comes back next year with a goal in mind to either be more friendly to the consumers pockets, or gameplay that is enjoyable and not completly over the top.
