Back to the Future is a 1985 American sci-fi film directed by Robert Zemeckis. Set in 1985, it follows the story of a teenager who accidentally sends himself back in time by a DeLorean modified to travel through time. The film premiered on July 3, 1985 and grossed over $222M with a $19M budget, and also received six awards, five in 1986 and one in 1987.
