How to safely browse the internet

Duke university's advice is to use an ad-blocker, don't use the 'remeber password' feature, block pop-ups, and use private browsers. CISA says to beware of permissions granted on websites, be careful accepting cookies, and limit the data websites can gather from you. UW says to keep your system up to date, use secure websites, use a VPN, and make sure to enable privacy settings while browsing.
